Hawke’s Bay Beer Appreciation Day will be held this Saturday, September 24 from 2:30 to 7:30 at the Elwood Park Function Centre (rugby and polo grounds). Eight breweries are involved: Croucher Brewing Co., Epic Beer, HBIB, Mike’s Premium Organic, Moa Beer, Roosters, Townshend Brewery and West Coast Brewery.

Altogether there will be around 25 beers available depending on which beers and how many each of the stallholders brings.

Music will be provided by DJ Ruffian and friend whilst food will be supplied by European Gourmet.

In addition there will be a guided tasting at 3:30pm where three brewers (Howie from HBIB, Chris from Roosters and Paul from Croucher) will take us through 10-11 beers and give an insight into the stories behind the brews. They will also be answering questions from the group, which is limited to 30 participants. There is no extra charge for the guided tasting, only tasting tokens needed to purchase the beer.

Tickets are $28 dollars and include a tasting glass and $6 worth of tasting tokens. However, as organisers would like to see more home brewers at the event they are offering $20 tickets to HB home brewers. For members to take advantage of this please contact Brian.
