For a change we had our monthly meeting at Roosters Brewery on Omahu Road in Hastings. Chris, the owner and brewer, gave us a run down on how he came to set up and own the brewery. He has a history in winemaking and studied at Roseworthy, coming home to work with Montana for several vintages. After that he spent time at Renwick Brewery and decided to start a brewery in Hawkes Bay. Meanwhile his family came to the Bay, bought land and set up  vineyards and a winery. He is also the winemaker for the family label, Beach House.

Chris gave us a run through of his brewing techniques which followed with a tasting or two. The monthly meeting then proceeded with the monthly competitions. David achieved a Bronze for his Strong Ale while Hans and Brian achieved Bronze medals for their Dry White Grape wines.

THe raffle was won by Bob, becoming a habit, which was a very nice pot plant.
