November Meeting
After general business the members present partook in a blind tasting of 5 commercial, but not boutique, draught beers. Those involved were Ranfurly, Skippers(a Brew sold by The Mill), Double Brown, DB Draught and Waikato Draught. While there were differences and preferences noted the general opinion was that they all lacked body and flavour. Waikato Draught may have been judged the best of the bunch. Interestingly draught beer is thought to have got its name from early times when the barrels of beer were pulled around by draught horses on wagons for delivery to the pubs.
Following the beer tastings the club beer and wine points cup competitions were judgded. Norn won a Silver for his Dessert wine and a Bronze for his Strong Ale. Bob won Bronze for his Lager.
