Sixteen of our club travelled to Waipukurau for a great evening of social intercourse with the Central Hawkes Bay Club. They are great hosts and always put on a great meal after comparing drinks from each others club during the Happy Hour. Clive From CHB ran an informal judging of entries from each club for the much coveted trophy of a figurine called Delorus, a woman of dubious reputation. After hours of deliberation the winner was Hans from our club with his wonderful Merlot. After desserts and the thank you speeches from each club we clambered onto our mini buses and were delivered to our doors by the able drivers. Many thanks to Joy and June’s nephew, whose name escapes me, for giving up their night to be our drivers.

There was a raffle but I know not who won it, or in fact what the prize was.
