National Champs to be held in Hastings!
The Biennial National Amateur Winemakers and Brewers Championship Competition will be held in Hastings, Hawke’s Bay from the 16th of October to the 18th of October 2015.
The Host Club –HB Amateur Winemakers and Brewers Club is thrilled to announce that the event will be held at the Angus Inn, Hastings.
Today the President of the HB Amateur Winemakers and Brewers Club –Brian Henderson said “We are very excited to be hosting such a prestigious event and plans are well underway to make this an exceptional event.”
The competition is open to all members of Clubs affiliated to the NZ Federation of Winemakers and Brewers Clubs and is run to their rules using certified judges.
“We are expecting 800 to 1,000 bottle entries from up to 150 entrants’ in 48 distinct classes of Wine Beer and Liqueurs. All entrants are competing for the coveted Best of Show Trophies as well as Best of Class and the more common Gold, Silver and Bronze achievement medals” said Brian. “In addition to these we have secured some major prizes from sponsors, including Kauri Winery Products and Coopers DIY.”
Judging will occur on the Friday, with a formal awards dinner on the Saturday. The Federations General Meeting occurs on the Sunday after the awards.
