August Meeting 2015
Twenty members and visitors had a very busy meeting which started with Norm being made a life member of the club. Norm joined the club many years ago and has worked tirelessly over the years. He has held every office in the club and has been, and still is, a committee member for much of the time he has been a member. An update on planning progress for the Nationals was presented.
Over the past few months we have gained 3 new members and at this meeting we welcomed 4 visitors who came to see how we operate. We look forward to them joining the club in the future.
We were honoured to have Kate Radburn of Pask Wines at our meeting to judge the wine club members had made from the chardonnay juice she supplied back in March. There were 6 wines made and Hans was judged to have the best wine. Kate discussed each wine after the judging and gave helpful tips on how to improve our wines. Overall though she said we had done a very good job and was surprised at the quality.
The piklet competition was judged and the winner was June.
One of our visitors, Hyota, won our raffle.
The monthly Points Cup winners were June, a silver medal, for her Dry Citrus. Conrad and Brian won bronze for their Brown Ales and Bob a silver for his Bitter Pale Ale.
Congratulations again to Norm. Such a long association and effort provided to our club. Well Done!
