Many club members joined Tom’s family to farewell him at his funeral on the 26th November 2015. Many family tributes were given by his children and grandchildren, a testament of his standing with him. He was 72.

Tom had been a long time member of the Hawkes Bay Winemakers and Brewers Club and had been made a Life Member some years back in recognition of his work for the club. He held office in it from time to time. He was a keen wine and beer maker and competed at club, Regional and National levels with considerable success. Tom was also strong on the social side of club life and was popular among everyone.

Tom not only made wines and beers but he went on to become a judge within our home brewing systems and was known to be no easy beat when awarding medals.

Sadly as his health faded during the last months of his life we missed him at club meetings and functions. He will be sadly missed within our movement.
