2020 Central Region Competition
Hawke’s Bay Amateur Winemakers and Brewers Club is pleased to announce we are hosting the 2020 Central Region Competition!
The 2020 Central Region Competition! will be held in Hawke’s Bay on the 9th to the 11th October 2020.
The venue for the event is the Riverbend Campus at 354 Te Aute Road, about 2km south of Havelock North (see on Map)

An indicative time table is:
- Friday 9th October 9.30 am. Judging commences.
- 6 pm Welcome to delegates with figure food served.
- Saturday 10th Oct. 9.30 ish Tour of venues of interest in the Region including lunch. Finish mid-late afternoon.
- 5 pm Happy Hour followed by dinner and presentation of trophies.
- Sunday 11th October 9.30 am Biennial Meeting followed by farewell BBQ
While it is a church site, it has facilities to run events just like our Regionals. It has a commercial kitchen and will cater for us. A stand alone building has social areas, a kitchen and accommodation.
Accommodation is in the form of 14 twin share rooms at $40 per person per night. There are shared ablution blocks within the building.
As well there is a mezzanine floor which is a dormitory type common room with 10 beds at $35 per person per night.
Camp sites are available on the property at $30 per night for two people.
If there is not enough room for everyone on site, motels are available in Havelock North 5 minutes away from the venue.
Central Hawke’s Bay Club is to organise the Saturday bus Tour, which at the moment is not costed out.
So mark your calendar and make arrangements to travel to Hawk’es Bay which promises to be a great weekend. The weather will be great here at that time of the year.
