The 2020 Central Region Competition was held near Havelock North, Hawke’s Bay on the 9th to the 11th October 2020

We had a great response to our call for entries from Affiliated Clubs with 292 Bottles entered!

Entries were of a high standard with entries for;

• 105 Wines
• 145 Beers
• 42 Liqueurs

Certificates were awarded at the Saturday evening prize-giving for Achievement to Gold, Silver and Bronze levels, with the following 164 Awards given:

• 92 Bronze
• 51 Silver
• 21 Gold

Best of Show Awards for the 2020 Central Region Competition went to:

Best Wine of Show : G. Burr (Eastern Bay of Plenty (Kawerau) Winemakers’ Brewers Club)

Best Beer of Show: M. June (Hawke’s Bay Amateur Winemakers & Brewers Club)

Best Liqueur of Show: J. Zame (Gisborne Winemakers and Homebrewers Club)

Best Brewer: J. Batten (Hawke’s Bay Amateur Winemakers & Brewers Club)
