Hawke’s Bay Amateur Winemakers and Brewers Club are pleased to announce that the 23rd biennial National Conference and Competition for federated Amateur Winemakers and Brewers will be held near Havelock North, Hawkes Bay on the 6th, 7th and 8th of October 2023.

It has been four years since the Pegasus Club did a wonderful job of hosting the 22nd Nationals in Christchurch as the scheduled 2021 event in Eastern Bay of Plenty was canceled due to the Covid 19 pandemic! Hawke’s Bay Club last hosted the Nationals in 2015 where we had over 800 entries.

All Amateur Winemakers and Brewers that are members of Clubs affiliate the NZ Federation of Amateur Winemakers and Brewers Clubs are invited and strongly encouraged to enter and attend the 2023 National Conference and Competition for Winemakers and Brewers, in what is sure to be an exciting, entertaining and enjoyable event. If you are not a member of an affiliated Club there’s still time to join up now (see the Clubs list on FAWAB.nz).

The Event will be held at the Riverbend conference center just out of Havelock North, Hastings, Hawke’s Bay. There will be limited on site accommodation available (14 Twin Rooms & a 10 person shared dormitory) plus camping and caravan facilities available. Additional accommodation is available in motels in Havelock North, a 10 Minute Drive away or in Hastings.

We will again be offering substantial prizes from generous sponsors, so get planning and sort your best Wines, Beers and Liqueurs ready for the Competition. Of course the Federation Cups will up for grabs and be strongly contested.
